Travel Day 6
Our morning started with our own homemade breakfast of muesli, banana, yogurt, freshly squeezed orange juice and a cup of tea. It's so good when we come across a supermarket and we can get back to normal food.
We then spent some time planning the next couple of days before heading out to the find the railway station as we have decided that was the best option to overcome an accommodation issue. After we'd bought our tickets to Bologna for tomorrow we then headed off to a bike shop (they are one shop worth visiting when you are travelling - you never know what you might see that we don't have at home). I took the opportunity to buy a new pair of gloves and the other boys bought some things as well.
On the way to the bike shop we passed a laundromat so stopped and threw a load of washing in. As there was a Cafe opposite the laundromat the boys opted for a coffee.
With the washing done it was time to head back to the Hostel and have a cuppa, again making
our way through the busy streets and laneways. The street vendor stands are choc-a-bloc full of their wares from trinkets through to lots of leather wear (jackets, belts and bags). Some of the restaurants are amazing with their display "Walls" of chilled meat all still in the whole form from which they will go and cut you your Tee Bone steak or the like.
After lunch I sorted out a USB connector for the Tablet which was something I did not bring with me - it was such a small thing but it took several Technology stores to find one that had what I wanted.
After that it was off to my "Pizza and Gelatto" cooking class, which I thoroughly enjoyed and managed to pick up some tips from the Master Chef. Hopefully my Pizzas will now be on another level and Hands for to those who want to be around once I get back home and into Gelatto making. Gelatto by the way is quite different to "Ice Cream" and I now know how to pick a good Gellato shop. Hopefully I will remember what I've learnt on that front by the time I get home.
Tomorrow is going to be a strange day for us as the only train/s that takes bikes doesn't leave Firenze until 1:20 p.m. and won't have us in Bologna until 5:00 p.m. Peter has a friend there we are going to catch up with before riding out of town about 30 k.m to our B&B for the night.
One needs to be flexible and not stuck in any set routine or have expectations other than to take things in our stride and go with the flow.
