Day 19 - Kraiburg to Munich - ride total 1,438 k, 11,488m
Within a couple of km's of leaving Kraiburg this morning we made the decision to put our raincoats on and what started out as a few spots of rain turned into drizzle and for the last 25 km was a steady light rain.
It's Sunday morning and while all was very quiet and no Cafe open along the way we did get to one village where there seemed to be a few people around. It turned out that the local backery was open and the locals were coming in their droves, in fact there were 15 waiting in the queue ahead of us. Peter was in charge of the purchasing and cane back with the very fresh Croissants.
We ate them there and then before going on I took a Pic of the welcome sign strung out across the front of the Bakery window. It was a clothes line with baby clothes pegged to it and Welvome message to the newest arrival earlier today. At other times in the rural areas we have seen the stalks in the gardens of houses obviously also welcoming the newborn.
We stopped at about the 55 km mark and had our ciabatta, salad and pork rolls that we had made with the leftovers from Last night's dinner - there was a bus shelter that allowed us to get out of the rain. We didn't muck around having our lunch and decided to push on to Munich, without stopping again.
We arrived about 1:00 p. m. and as is our protocol it was my turn to go and sort out the booking. The only problem in doing so was that my hands were wet and quite cold which made signing in a bit difficult, but I did manage however the handwriting would not sub any awards
We had thought yesterday that we might have a second night here but the hostel is full so we'll just have to see what we can come up with.
