Day 23 - Stuttgart to Karlsruhe - ride total 1,741 k, 13,509 m

A great day for riding after last nights brief electrical storm with thunder, lightning and heavy rain (all that we saw from our hotel window). This meant the morning was fresh, not too hot and no wind, with only a gentle 1 - 3% climb for most of the elevation gain we made.

We started with our self catered, museli, yogurt, fruit and a cup of tea for breakfast before we put the front wheels back on the bike (an added security dis-incentive measure) to slow down any would be bike thief, along with our bags that are normally S attached to the bike.

For the last couple of days now the most noticeable change in the scenery/countryside is that there is far more urban sprawl with villages, towns, residentialslong with commercial and industrial land use extending much further out of the city Centre than before to the point where it seemed we were still within a city.

Along with that observation was the huge number of allotment plots on the outskirts of the towns that seemed to go on for a very long time - clearly the allotment hobby/interest is big for some over here and they take great pride in their allotment.

Today I've posted some pics of the ingredients for our self catered BREAKFAST, the box of museli will give us two meals.

1 Euro = $1.78 NZD.

500 gm of good museli = $5.69 NZD

500 ml of milk = $1.59 NZD

500 gm yogurt = $1.98 NZD

500 gm NZ Kiwifruit = $0.88 NZD

All very reasonable I feel and as for the Kiwifruit - can't sort that one out.
